WRITTEN MOTION - EXTEND OUTDOOR CAFE PERMITS

5. WRITTEN MOTION, Councillors Abreu, Giesta, Baptiste, Markey, Carney, Council President Lopes and Councillor Lima, requesting that, in light of current COVID-19 pandemic and “state of emergency” at the federal, state and local level, the Department of Inspectional Services, Licensing Board and the Health Department extend the “Outdoor Cafe Permit” deadline from October 31, 2020 to January 2, 2021, given the fact that all restaurants will not be able to open at full indoor capacity until it is deemed safe by the federal, state and local government, sometime next calendar year, allowing willing restaurants the ability to maintain its outdoor capacity seating throughout the upcoming holidays which is another avenue to assist them in their time of need. (To be Referred to the Department of Inspectional Services, Licensing Board, Health Department and the Mayor’s Office).
