WRITTEN MOTION, Councillor Gomes, requesting, that the Committee on Public Safety and Neighborhoods, Legal Counsel David Gerwatowski, Police Chief Oliveira, and a Representative of the Traffic Commission, meet to look into the use of Police Drones in the City and discuss the possibility of establishing an Ordinance for the City to use drones to track unregistered ATVs that are terrorizing City streets and neighborhoods; and also, to use these Police drones to track unregistered motorcycles and scooters, surveillance, recovery, traffic, beach patrol, and festival safety; a few of the possibilities in the 21st-century of public safety approaches to fighting crime and criminal activity in City of New Bedford.
