24. REPORT, Special Committee on Memorials & Dedications, recommending that the City Council take “NO FURTHER ACTION” on the WRITTEN MOTION, Councillor Gomes, requesting that the Special Committee on Memorials and Dedications, meet for the purpose of discussing exactly what the City's intentions are with the Franco-American Veterans Square, this Veteran's Memorial has been under construction due to the road work; and further, that the Committee look into what happened to the plaque dedicated to Roland G. Saulnier Square, that was located at the former Saint Anne's Church at the corner of Brock Avenue and Ruth Street which was dedicated on July 4, 1946 by New Bedford Post 62 Vets; furthermore, this request comes from the family asking the City plans to complete and rededicate the square to this American, our City hero.
