1. WRITTEN MOTION, Councillor Abreu, Council President Lopes, Councillors Baptiste and Giesta, requesting, that the New Bedford City Council send a letter to Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA), the Administration and New Bedford Health Department to discuss the feasibility of implementing a free public transportation plan for all City residents, especially our Seniors who do not have access to adequate transportation, to receive the COVID-19 vaccination when all of the MASS Covid-19 vaccination sites are all fully open and operational. (To be Referred to SRTA, the Mitchell Administration, New Bedford Health Department and Committee on Public Safety and Neighborhoods). (Ref’d 01/28/2021)

2. WRITTEN MOTION, Councillors Gomes, Abreu, Baptiste, Carney, Coelho, Dunn, Giesta, Lima, Council President Lopes and Councillor Markey, requesting, that the Committee on Public Safety and Neighborhoods meet with EMS Director Mark McGraw, for the purpose of discussing the overworked, overwhelmed EMS system and ambulance response service in the City of New Bedford; and further, that the EMS Director make available to the Committee the number of mutual aid ambulances that have been called to the City to service the residents since January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020; and further, that a breakdown of how much revenue is being lost, in addition to the time that it is taking for us to get mutual aid to the residents of the City; and further, to also re-look at how we are dispatching EMS Fire and Police during emergency medical calls.
